Winter writing blues are hard to beat. As the chilly weather sets in and daylight hours dwindle, some authors find themselves stuck in a rut. Retreating to a warmer locale is always a temptation during this time of year. Combine abundant sunshine with events on writing, books and publishing, and you wind up with the ultimate winter oasis for literary aficionados.†

No matter the time of year or location, writing and book festivals are always a treat. For writers seeking camaraderie with other authors and book lovers, these events provide the perfect venue. Often less structured, less intense and less expensive than a traditional writing workshop or retreat, a festival offers you the chance to hear from your favorite authors and chat with an assortment of interesting people. It’s a great setting for exchanging thoughts and opening yourself to new perspectives. Ultimately you walk away with fresh ideas, new contacts, and all kinds of writing inspiration.†

Today the Writer’s Circle is bringing you a list of four writing and literary festivals taking place this winter. All are located far out of winterís frigid grasp, where the sun and the balmy air will lift your spirits and your writing to new heights.
